Ujigawa Rhein is a common name of Uji-gawa and the Seta Shiga prefectural road [ which is run on the riverside ] and Kyoto way No. 3 line Otsu Nango Uji line, and is a principal prefectural road which connects Uji-shi, Kyoto and Otsu-shi, Shiga. It seems that the section to the west stuffing of the Uji, Uji-shi, Kyoto bridge is called Ujigawa Rhein with the Otsu-shi, Shiga Shishitobi bridge as the starting point near the juncture of the Seta river and the Shigaraki river. The sightseeing boat operated along the Uji-gawa canyon until Amagase Dam was made from the first, but the name of this tourist ship is Ujigawa Rhein, and it seems that the name is coming from here. This way developed to along the canyon made along Uji-gawa which flows through the Daigo mountain land in Kyoto is also a place which shows the beautiful scenery along the ravine which Kyoto cannot consider. If the Uji bridge is left, famous Uji Byodo-in is visible to a left hand after a while. The spot of autumnal leaves appears in several places and a left hand in the hit which passed Byodo-in. A winding load begins from the hit which passed the remains of the old Amagase drive-in (the present closing) parking lot which raise altitude from there for a while, and are near the Amagase dam along Amagase Dam. Amagase Dam is a 254m [ of the 72m bank in height of the bank completed in 1964 (Showa 39) / in full length ] arch type dam, is proud of the pondage of about 20 million t, and is performing water-drainage of 27 cubic meters/s. The amount of water of Seta river-Uji-gawa which flows out of Lake Biwa is controlled, and a role of the amount-of-water regulation which flows into downstream Yodogawa, and flood prevention is played. It runs winding in [ Ujigawa Rhein ] along this dam lake. Although this hit of autumnal-leaves scenery is also fairly good, since road width is narrow, there is seldom a space which can park a car. If there is branch which goes to Ujitawara-cho on the way and bridges, such as the Omine bridge, Kisenyama Ohashi, and Sotsuka Ohashi, are passed, the national highway No. 422 line by which it came from the direction of Shigaraki soon will be joined, and it will become a terminal point of the Otsu Nango Uji line. Moreover, the Uji-gawa upper stream changes the Seta river and a name near the border between prefectures in Kyoto and Shiga Prefecture. the national highway No. 422 line from here -- as it is -- up to the direction of Seta, Otsu-shi -- Seta -- it runs on the riverside. Now, the Keiji bypass is running the uptown side along Uji-gawa. The best time to see of the autumnal leaves of Ujigawa Rhein turns into the end [ of November ] - the beginning time of December. this time -- this Uji-gawa Seta -- the autumnal-leaves scenery seen on the riverside is published
